If your plan includes out-of-network benefits and we are not in-network with your provider, our office staff can assist you in pursuing reimbursement directly from your insurance company. Out of Network

While Dr. Hamid Mir may not be in-network with all insurance providers, this doesn’t mean you’re without options for having your procedure covered. In fact, many of our patients are pleasantly surprised by the level of coverage available for their spine surgery with Dr. Mir. It’s important to know that out-of-network doesn’t equate to lack of insurance coverage for Dr. Mir’s services. Instead, it simply means that the coverage is not provided at the insurance company’s contracted rate. We strongly encourage you to connect with our knowledgeable Patient Engagement Team to discuss your specific insurance plan and coverage details.

Billing and Statements

Understanding how Dr. Hamid Mir collaborates with your insurance plan is essential in preparing for the medical billing process. Our team initiates communication with your insurance provider well before your procedure to verify your plan’s benefits and determine any upfront costs or prepayments required for surgery. Following your surgery, our dedicated billing team will handle the submission of your claims directly to your insurance company. This process includes claims for the surgery itself, as well as any diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory work you may have received. Your insurance provider will then review and apply their allowable rates to calculate your copay, deductible, and/or coinsurance, which together comprise your “Patient Responsibility.”

He has offices in Orange County, Los Angeles & Riverside. Dr Mir specializes in spinal fusion, lumbar surgery and treating trauma as well as other conditions affecting the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine including degenerative diseases, stenosis, fracture, infection, adult scoliosis, revision, and complex reconstructions.

He was very professional and made me comfortable that he understood exactly what I was going through and was able to communicate effectively exactly what it will take to get me on the road to recovery after spine surgery. Dr. Mir saw me about 2 months before the spine procedure and indicated that I had severe stenosis or narrowing of the openings where the nerve roots exit at the L4, L5 and S1 level. He reviewed my MRI and without wasting any time, asked if I wanted or was considering spinal surgery. He was extremely clear and answered all my questions. I had the procedure done at the Disc Newport OP surgery spine center and was cared for by an incredibly competent, caring staff. I was discharged same day and my post op recovery was 2 weeks, and returned to daily activities and work July 15th. The procedure was very successful as my back pain is basically gone. Amazing relief from a procedure done by a great surgeon with a great team!
